All J&D Gears’ spiral bevel gears are fully lapped and crank tested to suit individual standards and requirements. Supplied to some of the most arduous industry sectors such as rail, heavy plant and commercial, J&D Gears’ spiral bevels are distributed around the world. Customers and applications include:

Reverse engineering

Our unique understanding of gear manufacture and technology gives us an unrivalled and impressive track record in the field of reverse engineering. It is not always possible to supply the original engineering drawings when a repair is required. However, our technical team is able to manufacture a finished component using the ‘worn’ original as a template. All components receive analysis on material and heat treatment before production drawings are made with full certification and traceability. We can provide a rapid response to any request.

Service and maintenance

Our Complete Package for the manufacturer of castings and complete assemblies will cater for all your requirements. We provide materials analysis, pattern equipment, drawings, castings and machining services. On any project our customers only have to work with a single supplier source from start to finish.

In addition to our in-house services, our team of engineers can travel worldwide to provide in-situ crankshaft inspection, grinding, polishing and crack detection services for industries including marine, power generation and rail.
